Croft Cast Signs have been hand-making cast metal signs, engraved and etched signs for over 10 years. Having originally been introduced to foundry and metalwork at school I was looking for a new direction, having run a successful retail business for a number of years.
When a job-lot of foundry and sign making equipment became available it looked like the perfect opportunity to mix business with pleasure and start doing something I really enjoy!
Based just outside Whitby, North Yorkshire, Andrea and myself have grown Croft Cast Signs into one of the foremost producers of high quality metal signs in the country.
All of our projects are individually created to a specific design. We can work from finished artwork or from photographs and sketches to create a design for you; either way we ensure the finished piece will be in keeping with the environment in which it will be set.
We have an extensive portfolio of examples to help you choose the look and style you desire. This shows the broad range of shapes and sizes we can offer including rectangular, domed oval and circular. Even more unusual formats can usually be accommodated. Some of our customers include: British Waterways, National Trust, Local Authorities and Civic Societies.
All our signs and plaques are cast in our on-site foundry using high quality aluminium. Each is epoxy-primed before a weather resistant base paint is applied. But what sets our signs and plaques apart from the rest is the beautifully detailed hand-painted finish. The enthusiasm we have for our work ensures an exceptional quality is applied throughout the initial hand-casting right through to delivery.
We use two-pack acrylic base paint, which is UV resistant to withstand the elements making it extremely hardwearing with maximum durability and minimum maintenance. The same durable qualities are found in the enamels we use for the final hand-painted detailing and lettering, ensuring your sign or plaque will last for a considerable number of years to come.
8 years ago we extended our product range to include Laser Etching and Engraving on a wide range of materials. We use an 80 watt laser to etch our signs in order to give it a perfect finish that oozes style and class. Our engraving is computerised allowing us to engrave into a variety of materials including metal, glass, wood, acrylic, slate and tiles plus much more.
